Genesis

Praise the Lord: This week we received our first daughter. Genesis is her name, and she was born September 14th 2009. We are very excited; our baby girl is very happy, healthy, and easy going. We don’t hear her complain unless she’s feeling hungry. It is exciting to see our vision moving forward, ahead of schedule.

Genesis was a bit of a surprise, we expected her to show up in October, but we were wrong. We got a phone call Monday morning, and within a few of hours of the call, Genny was born and Anchalee was holding her for the first time.

This is a happy story on our end, but our hearts go out to the parents who are caught in a cycle of poverty and cultural intolerance which has made them into gypsies; moving from place to place and across borders, trying to make money to feed their children in Burma. They are not married to each other; they were only working together on a plantation in Thailand. Both of them have families back home, with 10 previous children altogether. They have learned that life as illegal immigrants is difficult to bear. We see evidence of this by the fact that the mom was forced to be working in the field on just 3 days after she gave birth, despite the fact she nearly died from complications.  These two hope to return to Burma as soon as they can afford to travel.

There are so many tragic tales here in Thailand, so many people desperatley in need of compassion. It is a great joy to us that we can keep focused on finding children in trouble and offering them a second chance to be happy and to discover their best destiny. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those that have supported us in any way. All of you together are creating opportunities to save lives, and bring joy to those who are so disadvantaged by the circumstances of their birth.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
